Adaro Indonesia Obtained Nine Awards in GKPM 2012

On 28 September 2012, PT Adaro Indonesia received a total of nine awards in community empowerment “Gelar Karya Pemberdayaan Masyarakat” (GKPM) from the Coordinating Ministry for People’s Welfare. The Secretary to Minister on People’s Welfare, Mr Indroyono Soesilo presented the awards to Mr Priyadi, GM Operations of PT Adaro Indonesia and other representatives from the company.

GKPM Award 2012 is presented to companies that have successfully run Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs based on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and assist the government in achieving Indonesia’s MDGs target for 2015. GKPM Award 2012 is collaboration between the Coordinating Ministry for People’s Welfare and the Corporate Forum for Community Development (CFCD).

In this event, Adaro won nine awards, consisting of seven awards in MDGs based CSR programs and two individual awards, as follow:

 

CSR Program:

1. PLATINUM rating

a. Category: Participation in Jobs Creation to Alleviate Poverty

Program: Development of Superior Rubber Plantation

b. Category: Cooperatives / Microfinance Institution to Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger

Program: Banua Bauntung microfinance institution Tanjung branch, and its role for the development of Small and Medium Enterprises

c. Category: Empowerment of Poor Households through Micro Businesses to Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger

Program: Animal Village

 

2. GOLD Rating

a. Category: Toddler and Child Health Services to Reduce Child Mortality

Program: “Ibu Sadar Balita” Class for Mother, Newborn, and Child Health in Paringin, Juai and Lampihong Districts, Balangan Regency.

b. Category: Creation of Access to Clean Water

Program: Increasing Access to Clean Water Facilities in Surrounding Villages

c. Category: Recycling Products to Ensure Environmental Sustainability

Program: Domestic Waste Recycling by Saraba Kawa House of Learning to achieve Ecological and Economical profits

 

3. SILVER Rating

a. Category: Women’s Savings and Loans Institutions to Achieve Equality.

Program: Women’s Savings and Loans Institutions for Sukamaju Women Farmer Groups

 

INDIVIDUAL:

1. Best 2, Category: Management Level CSR Officer

Nominee: Abdurrahman – CSR Manager

2. Best 3, Category: Field level CSR Officer

Nominee: Supiani – CSR Officer
