PT Adaro Indonesia has received the following award as the year 2010 comes to an end. Adaro received PROPER Award with Green Rating from the Ministry of Environment of Republic of Indonesia. This Green Rating is the third consecutive time that Adaro has received this award having previously received it in the years of 2006-2007 and 2008-2009.
The award was presented to Adaro on the night of Friday, November 26, 2010, at Balai Sudirman. Adaro was represented by GM Operations, Priyadi, who received the award from the Vice President of Republic of Indonesia, Boediono, accompanied by the Minister of Environment, Gusti Muhammad Hatta.
Proper awards are presented as recognition of the Corporate Performance Ratings in environmental management. This year Proper is based on Law Number 32 Year 2009 on the Protection and Management of Environment. The Corporate Performance Ratings announced consists of category compliance and non-compliance of the regulations.
PROPER Rating is categorized into 5 colours of categories, each of the categories reflects the company performance. The best performance level of compliance is Gold, followed by Green, Blue, Red, and the worst performance is Black (source: The ministry of environment).
The granting of the Green rating in the Proper awards to Adaro is recognition of the ongoing commitment to ensuring that our mining operations are conducted in an environmentally sensitive manner with equal attention to that which we place on Safety and Production. Having received this award for 3 consecutive years is testimony to the ongoing and consistent efforts of each member of the Adaro and Contractor teams. The challenge to us all in the year 2011 is to maintain our collective focus in this area and strive for improved performance with Gold as our goal.
