Since the commencement of mining operations in 1992, Adaro’s markets have expanded rapidly in Asia, Europe and the Americas as well as to the domestic market in Indonesia. Today Adaro’s position as a major global supplier of its ultra low sulphur, ash and nitrogen “Envirocoal” is well established.
During our production track record of achieving higher volume without fail since 1992, Adaro has cultivated long-term, diversified and loyal customer base. As of now, Adaro’s Envirocoal serves to approximately 40 customers in 17 countries. The majority of our customers are Power Plant that makes up around 80% of our volume followed by cement industries that makes up around 13%.
Adaro is well-known for its reliability and cost efficiency which makes us to have an excellent relationship with our customers. Our track record speaks for itself as substantially all of our customers have dealt with us for more than 5 years on average while more than half of them have relationship with us for more than 9 years.
Indonesia was our largest market in 2008 and will remain our largest market in the future as we are committed to support the need of power demand in Indonesia. On average, we supply 25% of our volume to the domestic market and export the remaining 75%.
We do believe that the demand for Envirocoal will remain strong especially from the Emerging markets. Many internationally-recognized industry reviews predict that global thermal seaborne demand will continue to grow at considerable rate. Further, they expect Indonesia to play a major role as the country is currently the largest exporter in the global thermal seaborne to meet this demand.
